The Advocate LOCAL Tuesday, June 1, 1999 Deaths and funerals Bertha Mae Bush Aug. 26, 1924-May 30, 1999 Funeral services for Bertha Mae Bush, 74, of Pataskala, are at 11 a.m. Thursday at Franklin Funeral Chapel. Burial will follow in Riverview Cemetery. Mrs.

Bush, a member of the Columbus Senior Citizens Council, died May 30, 1999, at Licking Memorial Hospital. She was born Aug. 26, 1924, in Parkersburg, W.Va., to the late Charles E. and Georgia (Sam) Lee. Mrs.

Bush was an avid seamstress and scrapbook organizer and collected 1 unusual clocks. She is survived by her daughters, Carolyn Bush of Pataskala and Linda (John) Braude of Reynoldsburg; sons, Harry Bush of Thornville and Charles (Betty) Bush of Whitehall; five grandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; one brother, Richard (Sylvia) Lee of Parkersburg, W.Va.; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Bush, 1997; one daughter; and three brothers. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. today at Warren F.

Mrs. Carr died May 29, 1999. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis E. Carr. Mrs.

Carr is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Rick and Beverly Carr of Pataskala, and Darrell and Cathy Carr of Croton; three grandchildren; three stepgrandchildren; four greatgrandchildren; four stepgreatgrandchildren; and special friend, Donna along with many other special friends. Wednesday at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, with the Rev. Linda Pinson officiating. Burial will follow in Jacksontown Cemetery. Mrs. Smith, who worked for many years as a cook, retiring in 1988, died May 29, 1999, at Arlington Nursing Home in Newark.

She was born Jan. 12, 1912, in Hilliard, Ohio, to the late Bert and Missouri (Salyers) Collins. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Protestant faith. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ross Smith, in 1984.

Mrs. Smith is survived by one son, Robert Smith of Thornville; one daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Lloyd Hawk of Newark; six grandchildren, Cathi and Mike Inman, and Mindy and David Maines, all of Newark, and David and Kathy Hawk of Orient, Ohio; three great-grandsons, Andy and Alex Hawk and Dylan Maines; one stepgreatgrandson, Jamie McDonald; one brother, William Collins of Thornville; and many nieces and nephews. White House mental health conference to air Monday at LMH The Mental Health Associa: tion of Licking County and Shepherd Hill Behavioral Health Center have arranged a local viewing place for the White House Conference on Mental Health, a live video program chaired by Tipper, Gore.
