Purdue defeats Penn State 67-65 to win the Big Ten tournament title
The Boilermakers are Big Ten regular season and tournament champions.
More Keystone Kops follies from the Boilers against the Penn State late press, but Purdue holds on 67-65 to win the Big Ten Tournament final. Zach Edey will no doubt win Most Outstanding Player.
Penn State leaders: Jalen Pickett (11 points, six rebounds), Camren Winter (14 points, four rebounds, four assists)
Purdue leaders: Zach Edey (30 points, 13 rebounds)
What's next for Penn State? Heck of a run for the Nittany Lions but will end their season 22-12
What's next for Purdue? The Boilermakers will look to be a No.1 seed going into the NCAA Tournament.

Purdue is up double-digits
It's getting away from Penn State as the Boilers have their biggest lead of the game, 14 points, leading 55-31. Edey dominating (again) and Purdue is getting good work from its bench players. Failing a late collapse, Purdue will win its first Big Ten Tournament title since 2009 and will grab a No. 1 seed after UCLA lost to Arizona.
David Jenkins Jr. could be a big story in the upcoming NCAA Tournament
The Boilers lead Penn State 35-27 at the half. No surprise that Zach Edey has delivered (15 points, seven rebounds), but Purdue got 11 huge points from reserve David Jenkins Jr.
Purdue 35, Penn State 27 at the half
Zach Edey and David Jenkins Jr. have 26 of the Boilermakers 35 points at the break.
Penn State is still in this game as they've started to make shots, finished the half 3-for-3 from the field.
Neither team has shot it well from three, Purdue is (4-for15) and Penn State is (2-of-8).
Blow for blow
After missing their first four 3's, Penn State makes three in a row to pull within 17-15. But Purdue responds; Mason Gillis with a tough 2, then Fletcher Loyer from 3 with the shot-clock expiring and a hand in his face. Huge for Loyer, who's been struggling with his shot recently.
Can't stop Zach Edey
Zach Edey is having his way inside, has eight of Purdue's 13 points as the Boilers lead 13-6 early. Purdue is chasing Penn State off the 3-point line, and when they try to take it to the basket, they keep running into The Big Maple.

Purdue-Penn State starters
The Big Ten tournament championship game is underway, here's the first 10 below:
On Penn State's Micah Shrewsberry
The carousel has begun to spin, and the whisper of Micah Shrewsberry’s name carries around the merry-go-round. Notre Dame seems a good fit for the man who counts the straight-shooting Matt Painter and Brad Stevens as his mentors, and who, thanks to the challenges of recruiting to a tradition-less place like Penn State appreciates player development. He could handle the constraints of South Bend. Georgetown, of similar academic aristocracy in a basketball-first Big East, would also make a lot of sense.
Having finally found itself a coach that could actually make Penn State relevant in basketball, the question is: Can the school keep him?
The short answer is: yes, if it wants to, and if it works at it. The university has long treated the program like something of an annoying kid sister, allowing it to tag along with football but not really welcoming it for the ride.

Want to stop Penn State’s Jalen Pickett? Good luck, says the rest of the Big Ten
Jalen Pickett already has more than 2,000 points, 800 assists and 700 rebounds. The record books only include assists for the last 37 years. There’s no record of anyone matching Pickett’s feat. Earlier this year when Purdue prepped for a regular-season matchup against the Nittany Lions in Philadelphia, Matt Painter spent the bulk of his scout talking about Pickett, warning his players what would happen if they got crossed up in a screen, and playing clip after clip of a player he called “maybe the best in our league, if it wasn’t for our guy (Zach Edey).’’
Not everyone is a fan. After losing to the Nittany Lions for the third time, Brad Underwood doubled down on his criticism of Pickett’s style. “Booty ball,’’ he called it derisively, crying foul on Pickett’s very fair use of backing down guards from way out on the perimeter. Pickett is genuinely amused at Underwood’s dismay, and says he’s been playing that way for as long as he can remember. Once he got to college, he never thought once about ditching the move. “It lets you get up on little guards better, and it lets me see the floor better,’’ he says. “I know it’s hard to guard because people haven’t seen it, and they can’t figure out ways to stop it.’’

Penn State stuns Indiana
Penn State vs Purdue for the Big Ten Championship.
Nittany Lions got a little loopy in the end, but outplayed the Hoosiers this whole game.
This is the first time the Nittany Lions have made it to the tournament finals since 2011.
Penn State leaders: Jalen Pickett (28 points, eight rebounds), Seth Lundy (16 points, six rebounds)
Indiana leaders: Trayce Jackson-Davis (24 points, 10 rebounds, seven assists), Tamar Bates(14 points, 6-12 FG)
What's next for Penn State? They will play Purdue in the Big Ten title game.
What's next for Indiana? The Hoosiers will go dancing but will find out their opponent during Selection Sunday.
Not dice from three
Fittingly, Indiana's inability to hit a 3 bites them in the butt. That Hood-Schifino shot was never going in. IU 2 of 13 from the arc.

Indiana is making things interesting with 50 seconds left
Getting a little interesting in here. Penn State resembling Purdue with the press break. 5-point game with 50 seconds left.
Nittany Lions offense is rolling
Deep deep dagger from Funk. Wow. Penn State offense just shaming IU right now.
Penn State leads 46-43 with 11:56 left in regulation
With games against Illinois, Northwestern and now Indiana, Penn State has basically played three road games. And yet leads Hoosiers in semifinals, 46-43
Interesting stat
In the last 60 minutes that IU and Penn State have played, the Nittany Lions have outscored the Hoosiers 69-12 from behind the 3-point arc. That's, like, unbelievable.
Penn State leads 34-26 at the half
Indiana is second scoring in the Big Ten and have only scored 26 points at the half. The Nittany Lions have done a great job of not allowing the Hoosiers to get into any rhythm offensively.
Indiana has played well defensively too, holding Penn State to 38.5 percent from the field and 33.3 percent from beyond the arc.
Indiana's biggest problem is offense, they are shooting 38.2 percent from the field and have yet to make a three.

Where's Indiana's offense?
Indiana has gone cold and defense not faring much better. PSU 6 of its last 8, and Pickett heating up. Already has nine.

Indiana 12, Penn State 6 (14:56 1H)
A quick start for Indiana, which has scored on two-thirds of its possessions. Race Thompson has six points on 3-of-4 shooting.
Seth Lundy has all six points for Penn State, which is 1-of-6 from the field so far.
